Boldwood announces more author acquisitions and a new Spanish publishing partnership

Boldwood is delighted to announce the acquisition of twelve new authors - bringing the total number of writers on their list to 204.

The new authors range from bestselling crime writers Tom Bale and Daniel Sellers, via conspiracy thriller sensation Rob Jones and the master of historical mysteries John Pilkington, to the doyennes of dark psychological thriller writing Michelle Dunne and Teri Terry. Also joining the list is the author of witty and wise contemporary romantic fiction Frances Mensah Williams alongside the writer of glamorous escapist novels Rachel Barnett and the American small-town community chronicler Tammy Robinson.

Boldwood is also delighted to welcome two bestselling historical fiction writers Norma Curtis and Patricia Wilson who set their powerful stories in wartime Wales and the Greek Islands respectively. In addition, they are excited to have been chosen to be the publisher of the iconic Scottish saga author Evelyn Hood - ‘Scotland’s answer to Catherine Cookson’. They have been entrusted, by her Estate, with republishing 23 of her bestselling novels over a period of eighteen months, and introducing a whole new global audience to the world of historic Paisley and the extraordinary characters that walked its streets.

All the authors have been contracted on multi-book deals and will be published in every format simultaneously in all English-language territories. In a further expansion of the European translation partnerships that Boldwood have already set up with the French publisher City Editions, the Dutch publisher OverAmstel and the German publisher DPPublishers, they are delighted to announce an affiliation with the Spanish publisher Grupo Atico. The fastest growing publishing group in Spain and Latin America, with 7 imprints across all genres and offices in Madrid, Barcelona and Mexico City, Grupo Atico will publish 30 titles a year over the next few years from across the Boldwood catalogue. The deal was brokered by translation rights agent Vicki Satlow.

Amanda Ridout, Founder and CEO comments: ‘In our award-winning year we are delighted to have now welcomed more than 200 authors to the Boldwood family and this latest group once again highlights the breadth and quality of our commercial fiction publishing. And to have added the Spanish publisher Grupo Atico to our roster of translation partners means we will be bringing our authors to even more readers in the fourth most popular language in the world.
